WordPress Speed Optimization Services

Keep Your Website In Olympic Condition

Seven seconds. That’s all you have to capture your visitor’s attention—and that includes the time it takes to load.

Is your website speed hurting sales?

Optimize speed for higher sales

The speed of your website directly impacts the number of sales you make. A slow website could lead to a higher bounce rate. A higher bounce rate means fewer conversions.

This can happen without you realizing. As you add images or install plugins, your website’s speed may begin to drop. With so much on your plate running your business, you can be forgiven for not noticing.

Your visitors, on the other hand, will definitely take note.

Like with top Olympic athletes, every second counts. Continually making small adjustments, refinements, and optimizations will help take care of small issues before larger ones creep in—keeping your business one step ahead of the competition.

Why should you keep your website optimized?

Get Found On Google

The speed of your website is the foundation for nearly every other SEO related metric. A slow loading website will have an increased bounce rate which leads to lower page views and ultimately a decrease in search ranking. Boosting speed is one of the most cost-effective ways to keep search engines happy.

Improve The User Experience

A faster website is a crucial factor in the overall user experience. All the hard work you put into design, button placement, and website flow will count for nothing if your visitors don’t stick around to see it.

Increase Conversions

Customers who are about to make a purchase can be put off entirely by an unsatisfying experience, especially on ecommerce websites. Maximizing the speed of your website is often the difference between a new sale and a lost opportunity.

Optimize For Mobile

Mobile searches are steadily increasing as smartphones become more powerful—but there’s still a chance that mobile networks can be inconsistent. Ensuring your website is running at the optimum speed is essential for a positive mobile experience.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why should I trust Watchdog Studio with optimizing my website?
Our Head Watchdog, Justin Korn, has been helping clients with their websites since 2007. We’ve optimized, built, maintained, hosted, and audited hundreds of client websites over the years with one goal in mind: to take the frustration out of EVERYTHING related to running your website.

We live and breathe by our core values:

Honesty: Be upfront with clients about offerings and never try to upsell what they don’t need.

Communication: Let clients know if there is an issue or problem and don’t hide things. Whenever a client reaches out with a question or concern, provide a supportive answer.

Community: We do our best to get to know our community of clients. In doing everything we can to help our clients, we’re a major part of helping ensure their businesses thrive.

Committed: Make sure our clients know they have a guide with their best interests at heart.

What account/login details will you need from me?
In order to fully optimize the speed of your WordPress website, we’ll need the following:

  • WordPress administrator level user and password (you can/should create an account specifically for us)
  • (s)FTP or cPanel access
  • Domain registrar access
  • DNS access (if different than your domain registrar)

If you are not comfortable sharing your domain registrar login details (which is completely understandable), we can also provide you with the updated Name Servers to point to when we’re ready to switch to Cloudflare.

If you already have a Cloudflare account, even better! We can share instructions on how to provide us secure access.

How long does it take to optimize my website?
In short, it varies depending on each specific website.

Generally speaking, our initial optimization process will take approximately seven business days to complete from the time we’ve gained the necessary access to your website.

Do you optimize the entire website or just the home page?
Most of the optimizations we employ will benefit the entire website.

For the tweaks that are page specific, you can choose up to 10 key pages which we will further optimize. Additional pages can be optimized for an added fee.

Do you optimize for mobile?
Absolutely. It is essential that your website performs well across different devices to maximize your conversion opportunities.
Can you get a score of 100 for our website in Google PageSpeed Insights?
We can not guarantee a specific score in any of the available speed testing tools.

Besides, a score of 100 is not a goal you should be striving for. Your goal should be to improve your Core Web Vitals metrics. This is what Google uses in their ranking algorithms.

Will you alter how my website looks?

Not at all!

In some cases, we may recommend removing some animations, but we will never alter the aesthetics without your consent.

This service focuses on increasing website speed. Your site will look exactly like it does today, but will load much faster.

Can you optimize a website not using WordPress?
Not at this time.

Our process and tools are currently specific to WordPress and our expertise is rooted in WordPress.

Can you optimize a WooCommerce site?
Absolutely!

If you’re running a store using WooCommerce, you will undoubtedly benefit from an optimization service of some kind. The faster your website loads, the better chance you have at converting potential customers.

Additionally, WooCommerce requires more power than the average website. Because of this, we highly recommend investing in the best hosting provider you can afford.

Can you optimize a WordPress Multisite network?

WordPress Multisite is tricky when it comes to optimization.

There are some tweaks that will generally have a positive impact on the entire network. However, the majority of the process is site specific (i.e. image compression, script disabling on a per page basis, etc.)

If you have a Multisite network you are looking to speed up, please contact us and we can review to see if we can support you.

Will I need to change hosting companies?
Moving to a new hosting provider isn’t a requirement to speed up your website. However, if you’re running your website (particularly a WooCommerce store) on GoDaddy, Bluehost, Hostgator, any EIG owned company, there is a good chance that another host could serve you better.

Generally we find that moving a website from a low-end hosting provider to a more premium option, the website speed jumps dramatically.

That said, we will still do as much optimization as possible for any WordPress website on any host.

How can I check the speed of my website?
If you’d like to check the speed of your site, we recommend (and use) the following tools:

Can I cancel anytime?
Absolutely.

If your tail is not wagging 100 mph because you are not happy with the results we are providing you, we don’t want you to be forced to stick around. We hope you will reach out and express your frustration, concerns, or issues first so we can try to fix it and make it right, but you are welcome to cancel your subscription at any time.
